FAQ
What do you look for in hiring staff and counselors?
At Fort Bluff Camp, our counselors and staff are considered the lifeblood of our camp. Every person we hire is properly screened, has exceptional qualifications or skills, and most of all, is a giving and willing spirit to share God’s love.
What is the counselor to camper ratio?
This is dependent on individual group size and the number of counselors each group provides. We maintain a dedicated staff to assist with supervision and support.
How big is Fort Bluff Camp and how many campers can attend at one time?
Fort Bluff Camp encompasses 68 acres of scenic, mountain bluff property. At any one time, we can accommodate around 950 people.
Will you be able to work with my camper’s specific dietary needs?
Yes. If your camper has any specific needs, be sure to contact the office two weeks prior to your arrival, and we will accommodate them as best as possible.
How would my child’s medicine be distributed? Are there any nurses on site?
If your child requires any medicine, we have registered nurses on site for our weeks of camp to distribute any medicine you send with your child. For groups conducting their weeks, they must provide their own medical staff.
Will I be contacted if my son/daughter gets sick at camp?
In the event your child gets seriously ill or injured, we will contact you as soon as possible. We have at least one volunteer nurse on site during our summer camp session. If your child gets a minor cold or small cuts and bruises, our volunteer nurse(s) will be able to give them the attention they need. In the case of an emergency, Rhea County Medical Center is only nine miles away. We will do everything we can to ensure your child enjoys a safe and fun-filled summer at our camp!
